Michigan’s Lieutenant Governor, Garlin Gilchrist III, has been invited to be the keynote speaker for this red-carpet affair to be held at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI. This year’s theme, "Casino-Night”, promises to bring an entertaining feel to this must-attend Black-Tie Gala that will honor women leadership in U.S. Defense.

This premier event is attended by the most influential leaders in Michigan’s Defense Corridor and serves to recognize the academic and leadership accomplishments of women in this sector. Join us for an elegant night of fine dining, champagne, a short recognition program, and a great afterglow reception to celebrate women who have made significant contribution in the areas of Defense innovation, product development, and business development.

WID will honor Excellence in Leadership by recognizing Colonel Nancy Dakin, of the 127th Air National Guard Wing at Selfridge, Michigan.

Women in Defense HORIZONS-Michigan Scholarships will also be awarded to young females looking to pursue a STEM-related career in National Security.
