Women in Defense – Michigan Chapter to Honor Colonel (Ret.) Patricia Sellers for Excellence in Leadership

ROCHESTER, MI – Colonel (Retired) Patricia Sellers has been selected to receive the 2016 Women in Defense-Michigan (WID-MI) Excellence in Leadership Award. This prestigious award recognizes women who have made significant contributions to U.S. defense and national security throughout their careers. Sellers will be honored at the WID-MI Eighth Annual Black Tie Gala, a Masquerade Ball, to be held on October 21 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester.

Over her 28-year career, Sellers served in a variety of operational units in the United States, Germany, Korea, and Iraq. Highly decorated, including the Legion of Merit and two Bronze Star Medals, she led units from platoon leader to battalion command level as well as serving on the Army Staff. Sellers retired from the Army in 2015 and is currently the business development manager for tracked combat vehicles, robotics, and autonomous systems at General Dynamics Land Systems.

The Masquerade Ball will also honor industry leaders and young women entering science, technology, engineering, and math educational programs through the Horizon Industry Awards, Junior Horizon Awards, and Horizon Scholarships.
