How do I nominate and individual or team?
WID-Michigan is now accepting applications for the 2011 Horizon Industry Awards. Download and complete the Horizon Award nomination form today to get started. Nomination forms are due by close of business October 5, 2011.
Product Development: Contribution technically to a specific product design/development effort.
Business Development: Successfully sold a new or existing non-defense product/service into the defense sector and/or been instrumental in their organization’s defense business growth.
Supply Chain Development: Successfully leading, transforming and/or impacting the supply chain for their organization or the defense community.
How do we select finalists and winners?A selection committee of Women In Defense members and industry professionals consider qualification based on information provided on the nomination form. The best candidates are invited to be interviewed. After all interviews are complete, finalists (and winners) are chosen by the committee. All finalists are notified and invited to attend the WID Michigan Annual Black Tie Gala, where the winners are announced.
About the awards:In 2009, Women In Defense Michigan established the Horizon Industry Awards to recognize defense and national security professionals who distinguish themselves in their field and help their organizations achieve critical business objectives and goals. Winners are announced each year at the WID Michigan Annual Black Tie Gala. The 2009 and 2010 awards were sponsored by Crain's Detroit Business.
